Please Help Me Walk Off Parkinson's
Bert and I are participating in Walk Off Parkinson’s on Sunday September 24, 2017 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. to benefit the Parkinson’s Foundation of the National Capital Area (PFNCA).
That day, we will gather with thousands of others impacted by Parkinson’s to show that those facing this disease do not do so alone. We will raise funds to support those impacted by Parkinson’s including people diagnosed with the disease, care partners and their family members. Bert has been living with Parkinsons for over 16 years! We feel very lucky that he is doing as well as he is at this point. Much of his success and good fortune is due to the PFNCA -sponsored excercises classes he attends each week and the terrific support group we are members of, without which we would feel very alone with this disease.
If you live in the Washington area, we would LOVE to have you join “Team Bert” for this fun day at Nationals Park.
Walk Off Parkinson’s
Walk Off Parkinson’s is the name of PFNCA’s community fundraising and awareness walk, but it is so much more. It is a rallying cry to focus on how those impacted by Parkinson’s can take steps to slow how PD affects them. Whether it is a practical mindset of regularly exercising or a philosophical one that a person can enjoy life even when faced with challenges, Walk Off Parkinson’s is a way of life.
Bert is doing remarkably well, considering he was diagnosed with Parkinson's 13 years ago! He attributes much of his good health and good fortune so far to the activities provided by PFNCA, on whose Board of Directors he has served for many years.
We hope you will support our efforts to raise money for PFNCA so it can continue to provide services and the comraderie necessary for those of us living with Parkinson's disease.
Thanks in advance,
Susan and Bert
PFNCA is not affilaited with any of the many national organizations that focus on Parkinson's. Your support provides for a powerful and vibrant community helping those with Parkinson's live well.
