Please Help Me Walk Off Parkinson's
On September 30th, I will be joining more than 1500 people at The Washington Nationals Stadium in the Parkinson Foundation for the National Capital Area’s culmination of Walk Off Parkinson’s fundraising drive. This is a time to meet those affected with and caregivers for PD and find out what PFNCA has to offer.
Hopefully donations will be sufficient enough to cover 50% of the operating costs necessary to fund 260 programs: exercise classes specific to PD, communication (so we can be heard) and educational programs (lectures by distinguished neurologists). That the staff of PFNCA, all 3.5 people, is able to pull this off is remarkable and yet our organization continues to pursue even more programs.
Exercise that gets our hearts pumping is the only treatment that slows the progression of PD. Medication, surgical intervention and certain technologies may improve our quality of life by allaying some or most of the symptoms, exercise is still the only treatment that’s been proven to keep us in the game.
There are many reasons I am asking for your help. Please support our efforts to continue the extraordinary work PFNCA has done for us and make a tax-deductible contribution today, listing me as the recipient. If you would prefer to donate by check, please make the check payable to PFNCA, put my name on the memo line and send it to:
